Your family tree data

Family tree data you enter in KithMaker stays in your browser's local storage on your device. It is not uploaded to our servers and is not visible to us. Clearing your browser data, or using a different device, will not preserve trees unless you have exported the file yourself.

What we collect

We collect basic, anonymous usage analytics — page views, approximate country, and which features are used — to understand what to improve. We do not collect names, dates, photos, or any of the content you put into your tree.

Cookies and advertising

Our written guide pages display ads served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's ads settings. The family tree builder itself does not display ads.

Children

KithMaker is suitable for school projects, but it is intended to be used with a parent or teacher. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how data is handled, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
