About KithMaker

KithMaker is a free family tree builder built around a simple idea: most people who want to map their family do not want a subscription, an account, or a database company to own their data. They just want a clean chart they can print, share, and add to over the years.

Everything happens in your browser. Names you type stay on your device unless you choose to share the file. There are no accounts, no email collection, and nothing about your relatives is sent to a server in the background. You can use the tool offline once it has loaded.

Who it is for

The original users were parents helping with school projects and grandparents wanting a printable chart for a milestone birthday. Over time, amateur genealogists, reunion organisers, teachers, and family historians have shaped it into something that scales from a three-person tree to a six-generation poster.

How it is paid for

KithMaker is supported by a small number of ads shown on our written guide pages — not inside the builder itself. The builder is, and will remain, free of ads, banners, and upsells. If we ever introduce paid features, the core builder will stay free.
